Backseat

This poem was based on a relationship that I've been slipping in and out of for the past two years. It has greatly impacted my mental health and how I think of myself. Most of the time, I have a hard time expressing how I really feel through basic emotions. In my poetry though, I can use metaphors to describe memories, feelings, and my reactions to situations. Though some might not understand the metaphors because they are closely related to my own experiences, I hope some do and I hope they can relate to my poem.
