Jesus Christ's death was a substitutionary atonement for humanity's sins. I drew Jesus and Virgin Mary to depict the sacrificial love that Jesus has for us as well as Jesus’s mother have for Jesus. Jesus sacrificed himself to save us from sins. May Jesus's crucifixion remind us not to hate but rather lead us to love one another. Also, I want to touch people's hearts by reminding them that Mary had to experience the most devastating scene of watching her son being tortured to death. I want people to be reminded of their mother's selfless love. I dedicated this painting to all mothers who have sacrificed so much to make their children's lives better.
